Navigate ethical questions with greater clarity through collaborative consultation that considers professional responsibilities, clinical context, and your own judgment.

Ethical questions are an inevitable part of clinical practice, and the right course of action is not always immediately clear. You may be weighing competing responsibilities, considering how an ethics code applies to a particular situation, or simply wanting another clinician's perspective before making a decision.
Ethics consultation provides dedicated space to slow down, clarify the concerns involved, and thoughtfully consider your options.

My approach to ethics consultation is collaborative rather than directive. Instead of simply telling you what I think you should do, we'll work together to understand the situation, identify the relevant ethical considerations, and explore the possible implications of different courses of action.
Depending on what you're navigating, we may consider professional ethics codes, applicable laws and regulations, clinical responsibilities, boundaries, risks, competing obligations, and the context surrounding the situation. We'll also consider your own perspective, concerns, and professional judgment.
Ethical decision-making is rarely as simple as identifying a single rule and applying it. Consultation can help you step outside of the immediacy of a situation, consider perspectives you may not have considered, and arrive at a decision you can thoughtfully support.
Ethics consultation is not legal advice. When a concern requires legal interpretation or guidance, consultation with an attorney or other appropriate professional may be recommended.

You are welcome to schedule consultation for a specific concern or for support with a situation that has become more complex over time.
Consultation may include questions related to:
You do not need to know exactly what the ethical issue is before scheduling. Part of consultation may involve identifying and clarifying the question itself.

Ethics consultation is available to therapists at all stages of practice, including clinicians working in leadership, supervisory, or consultant roles.
You may schedule a single consultation when a specific concern arises or return for additional consultation as a situation develops. My goal is to help you examine the issue carefully, identify relevant considerations, and move forward with greater clarity in your decision-making.
